Activities
Perú has long been a fruitful source of postal contacts. For several years, until the cost rose excessively, the CBMA augmented (free) Internet advertising via labiblia.com with local newspaper publicity, so that our database of active contacts now has over 600 names. Bro. Robert Alderson of New Zealand offered the first public talks in the capital, Lima, in 2005. Since then CBMA workers have made several speaking trips a year, currently attracting about 15 friends per visit. Two brethren were baptized in 2008 and two more this year, and the four are now functioning as a warm and viable little ecclesia. Three of their wives are in different stages of baptismal preparation, one by Skype from the US.
Once again this year several Christadelphian travellers from abroad visited Lima and were a great encouragement to the brethren. With God’s help it is hoped to continue cost-effective outreach by means of Google ad-word campaigns while scheduling regular mission visits to help strengthen the brethren and bring along the interested friends.
