Bro Jim & Sis Jean Hunter began the work in Bolivia several years ago by the advertising of correspondence courses in the local press. This generated a number of contacts, many of whom regularly attended any weekend conferences that were then put on by visiting brethren such as the Hunters, Bro Robert Alderson and Bro Don Luff. Four contacts became brothers and sisters in Christ, the beginnings of an ecclesia in La Paz, during the longer-term stay of Bro Steve and Sis Sally Jefferies in 2005-2006.

Since then Bro Jacob and Sis Fiona Styles became resident missionaries there in 2007 and are due to complete their three year commitment in 2010. Their work with continued newspaper advertising, correspondence courses, mid-week and weekend ecclesial, preaching and personal classes has led to further baptisms and further growth potential, as well as encouraging and nurturing existing members.

They have been supported by regular visits from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and the UK, as well as several Spanish Truth Corps members on longer-term visits.
