In 2006 the focus was to establish ecclesial independence as the Hunter family prepared to return to Canada for a year. The work focused on establishing elders, formalizing an ecclesial constitution, and fine-tuning the teaching skills of the brethren and sisters. In the fall, Bill & Carol Rawson visited from Spain, mainly for pastoral purposes, but also to continue baptismal classes with a few candidates.

Pastoral visits are planned by Kevin in late January for a week-long visit and study weekend, followed by the Rawsons later in the spring, for another 2-month stint. The Hunter family plans to return to live in Quito for a further two years, beginning in August of 2007. At that time we hope to have an advertizing blitz to bring the number of active postal course students back up, and give the ecclesia an infusion of energy and new faces, to foster growth for the coming years.
